WA’s most iconic fashion moments from Telstra Perth Fashion Festival’s 20-year history and beyond will have centre stage in a stunning celebration of style.

Closing Night: 20 Years of Fashion will transform Fashion Paramount at Optus Stadium into a kaleidoscopic retrospective on Friday September 14, with an emphasis on the Stars, Statements and Legends who have shaped the industry.

A runway show like none seen before, the event will form an exploration into the origins of WA’s unique style and a snapshot of where it is heading, with a breathtaking array of local designers and retailers.

Our most promising homegrown labels and favourite stores from the past two decades will be firmly in focus as stunning gowns, feminine creations and textural pieces are pulled from archives and revisited or debuted for the first time.

Amongst the Stars are showstoppers Empire Rose, Zhivago, Ae'lkemi, One Fell Swoop, Flannel, Morrison and Dilettante. The Statements include newer labels such as Monster Alphabets, Jonte, Wild Horses, ILKA,Reign Of Label, Maricel and Hooded Wept. The Legends are WA fashion staples past and present, including Aurelio Costarella, Wheels And Dollbaby, Ruth Tarvydas, Parker & Co, Megan Salmon, 33POETS, Elle Boutique, Periscope, Varga Girl, Adam Heath, Morgan Marks and Sophie Kyron.

Telstra Perth Fashion Festival Director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said the Closing Night would not just offer a look back on iconic moments in WA’s style evolution but also a glance at the future.

“Never before have we had so many strong local names up on the runway together, with more
than 100 looks altogether,” Ms Harvey-Hanrahan said.

“For TPFF’s milestone 20th year, we have worked tirelessly to seek out the freshest up-and-comers and dive into the archives of WA’s beloved designers for a showcase that will be varied, dynamic and enchanting.

“We are celebrating brand WA with a show of epic proportions, set to firmly cement the State as a global fashion destination with an abundance of creative talent.

“Whether it’s delving into history’s wardrobe or exploring the latest trends currently available in stores, this is an event not to be missed - a true fashion moment for WA.”
